News Miner:

Miller agreed that the totals are hard to read as an overwhelming endorsement of Murkowski. The imbalance resulted largely because "there was no race on the Democratic side," Miller said.

"I think she's got a very uphill fight," Miller said.

He noted that he spent about $300,000 and took about 40 percent of the Republican ballot vote, while Murkowski spent $2.6 million. His backers demonstrated significant support for his views, he said.

"She's going to have to work with the conservative vote to win them back," Miller said of Murkowski.

Miller spent the last four months predicting that Murkowski would lose in a toe-to-toe fight with Knowles because the two are so similar that voters would focus on Murkowski's appointment by her father.
